“I Don’t Do Govt Of MOU” – Wike Hits Obaseki Below The Belts (VIDEO)

GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has continued his verbal onslaught against his Edo counterpart and previous ally, Governor Godwin Obaseki, with a speech mocking the latter’s predilection for impotent memorandum of understanding (MOU).
Mr. Godwin Obaseki has battled criticisms over the series of MOUs his administration signed with several bodies and agencies to no effect, particularly in the face of escalating socioeconomic pressures in Edo State.
Deploying the same line as critics in the past, Governor Wike told an audience over the weekend that he doesn’t deal in “Government of MOUs”, rather one that the people can feel and touch.
He said: “I don’t do government of memorandum of understanding (MOU). This is government where people are seeing governance, not government of MOU.”
“You feel governance, you touch governance, and that’s what we are doing here,” he said.
His comments have resonated with the people of Edo State who, responding via social media, agree with the Rivers boss that Mr. Godwin Obaseki governs in empty rhetoric and ineffectual gestures that contribute nothing to meaningful development.
However, they wonder why Wike is only now admitting a truth critics have long pointed out about the Obaseki-administration after helping him obtain a second term.
