FREEPRESS – The embattled and alleged Riche Arisco Osemwingie’s Criminal declaration as Chief Ogieamien may not end any sooner as a sectional family members of Chief Osarobo Okunghae Ogieamien claims he masquerades the hereditary name of the Ogiamien’s dynasty.
In a press statement issued and signed by the Representative of Ogieamien’s Family, Mr. Moses Igbineweka Ogieamien stated that the family has in its own rights disassociate themselves from the actions and utterances of Riche Arisco Osemwingie who they alleged is not a descendant of Chief Ogieamien.
Recalled that Osemwingie courted the wrath of the monarchy when he declared in a local tabloid, Ogiamien Trumpet, that members of the Ogiamien family cannot bow to the Oba of Benin and even arrogated the powers to install some chiefs in the suburbs of Benin to himself. The pronouncement came as a shock to the palace of the Oba of Benin since Osemwingie is not even the current Ogiamien of Benin. Apart from the Oba, who approves chieftaincy titles in the Kingdom, nobody else has the power to do so.
Mr. Igbineweka stated, “we the Real Ogieamien family of chief Osarobo Okunghae Ogiamien who is still the Ogieamien of Benin wish to state categorically that we are not anti-royalty. Arisco and his Cohorts and some dissident members of the Family, cannot speak on our behalf. We use this opportunity to pledge our loyalty to the Oba of Benin and the Benin Traditional Institution. We therefore want to make it abundantly clear that the title Ogieamien is Hereditary from father to eldest Son. Riche Arisco Osemwingie is not the son of Chief Ogieamien family.
In fact Riche Arisco Osemwingie was only a casual friend to some members of the Ogieamien’s Family. For purpose of clarification, Arisco’s mother whom we have heard is claiming to be member of Ogieamien is not the daughter of Ogieamien’’
Igbineweka Ogieamien who further explained that the family has prayed court to grant injunction to restrain him from parading himself as the Ogieamien added that his criminal declaration as chief was a brazen violation of the relevant laws of Edo State for which he was promptly apprehended and charged to court for onward prosecution by the state authority.
He advised members of the public to discountenance the profane publications of Riche Arisco Osemwingie against the highly revered Crown Prince, His Royal Highness,(Amb), Eheneden Erediauwa, Ediaken N’Uselu since last year
