CURRENTLY, Edo is in dire need of a very vibrant legislature that will painstakingly checkmate the actions of the Governor of the state without any compromise.
As I speak, the truth remains that the present legislators who have reduced themselves to Governor Obaseki’s hallelujah boys and mere Yes-men, crawling at his feet, receiving slaps collecting hard knocks all in the name of sustaining their fading political status is endangering the fabrics of our democracy in the state.
Obaseki’s diminishing popularity which was clearly seen after the declaration of both Presidential and National Assembly election is an indication that the misfiring Governor has totally turned himself into a purposeless tissue, rejected from all senatorial districts – losing the state abysmally for the first time in 24 years under PDP.
Back to the cruz of this matter, for a man who suggested to Edo people that his title name be referred to as “Technocrat”, a supposed democrat who buried an arm of government for 3 years now, shouldn’t be taken seriously campaigning for his party’s House of Assembly candidates or trying to manipulate the chances of a particular party as his back up plan.
By relegating the legislative arm of government, Obaseki succeeded in depriving most constituencies adequate representation for this long, even the consistencies of his exalted Yes-men wasn’t left out as they equally tasted the acrid wipes of the emperor.
With a legislative arm not up to 2/3 majority, how can Obaseki’s policies, programs and budgetary parameters translated to in the past years?
For this committed sacrilege, the people must rise up to the challenge and take a very bold stand against a man who is democratically deficient, a man who has sent Edo local government administration into abyss and oblivion.
The Devil himself had probably re-designed Hell in the light of the information he had gained from observing airport layouts, this is Obaseki’s current circumstance, my greatest joy is that Edo people already know his schemes, come March 11th, 2023 his debit will be repaid – Edo Arise!
