FREEPRESS – The former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to ex-Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state on Civil Society Organization, Comrade Efosa Kayode Iyasere has cried out over what he terms “Threat to life” and that of his family by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress.
Comrade Efosa pointed out that during the last governorship election in Edo state, he monitored his ward and local government elections and discovered series of electoral malpractices which was investigated and its report fingered the key leadership of the ruling, APC.
The election which took place on the 28 of September, 2016 was allegedly characterized with over voting, gun duels, bloodbath across board. Comrade Efosa alleged that it didn’t go down well with the Powers that be. The leadership of the party summoned him and questions ‘why an aide of the government is working against the party; “hence I was asked to collect kickbacks to doctor the report.
Irked by the suggestion, Comrade Efosa who hails from Ikpbo-Okha Local Government and voted in ward 8, unit 17 NDLA polling unit said he rejected the offer because “it was against his conscience, belief in equity, justice and fairness.
According to Comrade Efosa, “since then one Mr. Osato Frankly, who is one of major APC stakeholders has had to detail cultists and assassins to kill me and my family members; fearing that I might give the damaging report to the opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to prosecute their case in the election petitions tribunal”.
While lamenting his ordeal, Comrade Efosa said he had to relocate to Abuja, before finally leaving for the United States, based on intelligence scoop that he will be murdered if he remains in Nigeria.
