Emefiele’s Suspension Is A Welcome Development – Mazoji

THE former Senatroial aspirant of Katsina state senatorial district and also an elder to PDP Katsina state, Hon. Zaraddeen Babba Mazoji, has expressed his view on President Bola Tinubu suspending Godwin Emefiele as CBN governor The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Katsina state described the decision as a welcome development He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for taking the bold step to sanction the suspension of Emefiele. Reacting to this development, Mazoji said, one of the critics of Emefiele’s policies, especially the Naira redesign, described the President’s decision as bold and timely.

Hon. Mazoji however said as much as we welcomes the suspension of the embattled Emefiele by President Bola Tinubu, a thorough investigation of the activities of the apex bank must be carried out as the suspended governor had turn it into an “Automatic Teller Machine” (ATM), for the “Cabal.”

He added that such an investigation must be carried out by professional auditors outside the CBN and Tinubu should aloud the EFCC to carry out their assignment diligently, the move by Tinubu was a welcome development and a good riddance to bad rubbish. Said Mazoji

Hon. Mazoji has tasked the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Malam Abdulrasheed Bawa, to probe the former Governors and Ministers. this is appropriate and commendable because it’s important for political office holders to account for their actions in office and EFCC is imbued with the power of investigation, however, this power must be exercised judiciously.

He emphases that Not only me, the civil society organization, has accused some former governors and minsiters of mismanagement of funds, alleged that the fortunes people were mortgaged for personal gains under the ex-governors and now they are busy looking for appointment under Tinubu Government. Said Mazoji

Mazoji said the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led federal government can consider investing in alternative or supporting power source which, according to him, will boost the power sector.

While we congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, “It is a befitting tribute that you are Nigeria’s next president, and even while you are taking a much needed time to reflect on all that needs to be done, your vision of a Nigeria that shall take its place of pride among the comity of nations is resonating with all.
