Stop The Tenant From Becoming Your Landlord: A Wakeup Call To Edo PDP Legacy Group, By Godswill Inegbe.
THE Supreme Court ruling that made the candidates who emerged through Governor Obaseki- led faction, as the flag bearers of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo state, is a serious wakeup call to the Legacy Group of the PDP in Edo state, to stop the tenant in their party from becoming their landlord.
Allowing Governor Obaseki’s Supreme Court candidates to win any election in Edo state, will amount to a tenant quitting his landlord, and thereby, becoming the landlord.
Iet me assume that, the Legacy Group of the Edo PDP cannot forget in hurry the “over bearing” attitude of Governor Obaseki, and his attempt to foist those who came with him on the party leadership, to the detriment of those he met in the party, because as governor, he has the instrument of coercion and propaganda, when in actual fact he is the problem behind the crisis in the party, right from the moment he admitted into the party.
Recent political history in our state and nation, has shown how Governor Obaseki waged unnecessary political war against those who literally created him politically, and those who gave him political shelter, when he was under political rain.
Thus, in the light of the foregoing, the Legacy Group of the Edo PDP must understand, that, Governor Obaseki has a disturbing history of not honoring agreements, neither, does he fulfill any promises made.
His recent attempts to hoodwink some members of the Legacy Group, with bogus promises in order for them to support his Supreme Court candidates in the forthcoming election, must be rebuffed by the members of the Legacy Group, because, the only thing standing between Governor Obaseki from becoming the Landlord of Edo state PDP, is the incoming general election.
The Legacy Group othe the Edo PDP must rise to the occasion and stop Governor Obaseki and his Supreme Court candidates in the forthcoming elections, because, that is the only way for their political survival in the Edo PDP.
But, if they allow the Governor to bamboozle them again, with promises he never intends to fulfill, just to exhort support from them, certainly, after election, Governor Obaseki will ensure that, the Legacy Group becomes tenants in their own house!
