GRADUALLY, the notorious ‘Sai Baba’ chant like the ‘Sieg Heil’ salute which was associated with Adolf Hitler is taking shape in Edo State under the beautification of ‘Ematon’ given to Obaseki. Somehow, the followers of these three men in history have so much in common, but the most outstanding of their commonality is the attaches obsession to the failures of these men.
Today, Obaseki is more eulogized in failure by his cult followers than any performing politician around, just like the unforced failures of Adolf Hitler and Buhari were and are being epitomized and rationalized. This is an ugly trend of manic obsession as occasioned by stomach infrastructure. There are no jobs so it is easy to recruit an army of hallelujah singers to ‘ironize’ open failures.
As of today, we can’t say Buharists; those sadistic versions of humanity, are worst than Obasekists. They both bear similar marks of sadism in their veins, utterances and dispositions. They look at Obaseki as a demigod that cannot do wrong. They rationalize all aspects of his failures and peddle with wild propaganda feats his pockets of haphazard achievements that even an LGA chairman will not be too boastful of.
In all aspect of public life, Obaseki has failed. He failed with APC as a political administrator before he was tossed out and these his obsessed followers left with him, now he is in PDP, he is gradually failing in the party. Even with his obvious failure in providing infrastructural development, his followers are bent on praising him to high heavens.
These army of followers are not die-hard, they are followers of the crumbs Obaseki throw away from his table. As soon as he is gone from power with digrace, they will leave to look for yet another manic narcissist to be following.
