President Tinubu Names Ali Nuhu, MD NFC, 10 Others In Arts Creative Economy

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has appointed Gombe State indigene and movie star Ali Nuhu, as Managing Director of Nigerian Film Corporation alongside ten other new leaders in Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy sector.

Based on Wikipedia, Nuhu has appeared in more than 500 Nollywood and Kannywood films, and earned numerous accolades. Ali Nuhu is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors of all time in the history of Hausa Cinema, as well as Nigerian Cinema In terms of audience, size, and income, and he has been described as the most successful Hausa film star in the world.

According to a press statement issued on Friday by Special Adviser Media and Publicity Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the 11 new Chief Executive Officers are for agencies under the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy.

“The President mandates the appointees to discharge their duties in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism, diligence, and patriotism with a view to making the creative sector more vibrant and robust,” Ngelale added.

The statement added, “Tola Akerele — Director-General, National Theatre; Dr. Shaibu Husseini — Director-General, National Films and Censors Board; Mr. Obi Asika — Director-General, National Council for Arts and Culture; Aisha Adamu Augie — Director-General, Centre for Black and African Arts and Culture; Ekpolador-Ebi Koinyan — Chief Conservator, National War Museum; Ahmed Sodangi — Director-General, National Gallery of Art; Chaliya Shagaya — Director-General, National Institute of Archeology and Museums Studies; Hajiya Khaltume Bulama Gana — Artistic Director, National Troupe of Nigeria; Otunba Biodun Ajiboye — Director-General, National Institute for Cultural Orientation; Ali Nuhu — Managing-Director, Nigerian Film Corporation; Ramatu Abonbo Mohammed — Director-General, National Commission for Museums and Monuments.”
