Nigerian Army Lieutenant, Six Others Killed In Boko Haram Ambush On Borno-Yobe Road

ARMED Boko Haram sect have ambushed a military vehicle conveying a Lieutenant (names withheld) and other soldiers along Biu- Buratai- Buni Yadi road.

The road which links Borno and Yobe states have remained a death trap, as it has witnessed series of deadly attacks in recent past.

Reliable Sources revealed that the attack which occured on Thursday evening led to the killing of the lieutenant Officer, a driver, gunner and four other soldiers.

Unconfirmed report indicated that several number of the terrorists/attackers were killed during exchange of gunfire with troops near Kamuya village, just some few kilometres drive from Buratai, the home town of former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Retired).

A security Source also confirmed the development to our Correspondent on Saturday.

He said, “Yes based on situation report, soldiers of 135 Special Force BN FOB in Buratai were ambushed by terrorists on their way to Damaturu, the Yobe state capital buy fuel.

“Unfortunately, one (1) officer was kill, including a driver, gunner plus four (4) other escort”. Said the Security Source.
