The coordinated operation was executed by personnel from the Forward Operating Base, Bonny, who successfully impounded and subsequently annihilated the diesel-laden boat, estimated to be approximately 150,000 litres in quantity.

The officer emphasized that the recent actions of the Nigerian Navy were prompted by a directive from Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogala, the Chief of Naval Staff, to eradicate criminal activities in the maritime domain.

This successful operation is in alignment with the strategic operations outlined by Rear Admiral Olusola Oluwagbire, Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command.

The Navy’s proactive stance is part of ongoing initiatives aimed at addressing various crimes in the maritime sector, particularly focusing on combatting crude oil theft.
