Delta: Senator Omo-Agege Loses appeal, Oborevwori’s Victory Upheld
THE petition filed by Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress, APC, challenging the victory of Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has been dismissed by the Appeal Court sitting in Lagos State for lacking in merit.
The three-member panel of the appellate court upheld the judgement of the Election Petition Tribunal in Delta State, affirming Oborevwori’s victory.
Following the court’s decision, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State has extended congratulations to Governor Oborevwori.
In a statement signed by the PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr Ifeanyi Osuoza, the party expressed joy and pride in the victory, emphasizing the continuation of the MORE agenda for Deltans.
The statement also urged the petitioners to reconsider any further challenge after the Appeal Court verdict, in a bid to avoid unnecessary expenditure of resources.
Emphasizing Oborevwori’s impressive governance and leadership skills, the PDP expressed its desire to work collectively for the progress of the state and urged all Deltans to join hands in consolidating the delivery of the MORE Agenda.
