BARELY few hours after the First Class Emir of Gwoza local government area in Borno state, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Mohammed Shehu Timta on Friday confirmed that the most top wanted commander of Boko Haram who have been terrorizing Gwoza and other surrounding Mandara Mountain communities, Mallam Yathabalwe has surrendered to troops of ‘Operation Hadin Kai’ in the North East, another armed group of Terrorists suspected to be ISWAP invaded Gajigana town of Magumeri local government area wrecking havoc without confrontation.
Sources revealed that the insurgents invaded Gajigana of Friday at about 9pm, shooting sporadically at innocent civilians, with destruction of properties.
Confirming the latest attack, the Executive Chairman of Magumeri, Hon. Bukar Yaro said, he received a distress call that armed members of Boko Haram Terrorists have invaded Gajigana and currently wrecking havoc, with thousands of residents running helter skelter for their dear lives.
“It is true that some armed terrorists invaded Gajigana town and currently wrecking havoc on innocent civilians.
“As it is for now, I cannot ascertain the number of casualties, because, we are yet to access the community. But I was reliably informed that military authorities have sent in an airstrike jet which is currently confronting the terrorists, and we hope that the situation will soon come to a normalcy.
“We are fully in touch with military authorities with a view to bring back normal business activities in the affected community of Gajigana”. Said Hon Yaro.
