Zonda Ghana And GWM Launch New Vehicles In Accra

ZONDA Ghana Limited, in collaboration with China’s Great Wall Motor (GWM), has introduced two new vehicle models to the Ghanaian market: the GWM Tank 300 SUV and the P-series pickup. The launch event took place on Tuesday in Accra, marking a significant milestone for the country’s automotive industry.

Michael Okyere Baafi, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, praised Zonda and its partners for transforming Ghana’s vehicle supply landscape through the local assembly of both heavy-duty and light-duty vehicles. ‘These two remarkable vehicles symbolise not just innovation and engineering excellence but also the spirit of adventure and progress,’ Baafi remarked.

Baafi highlighted that these initiatives, supported by government incentives for local vehicle assembly, will help reduce the cost of high-quality vehicles in Ghana. This, he noted, is a crucial step towards making advanced and affordable transportation accessible to more Ghanaians.

Yang Yang, Managing Director of Zonda, expressed the company’s dedication to delivering top-tier innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. He announced that Zonda would commence local assembly of the P-series pickup trucks by August. ‘This assembly plant represents a significant investment in the future of the Ghanaian automotive industry. It will not only enhance our production capabilities but also create numerous job opportunities and contribute to the local economy,’ Yang stated.

The launch of the GWM Tank 300 SUV and P-series pickup underscores the growing potential of Ghana’s automotive sector. It highlights the impact of strategic partnerships and local manufacturing in driving economic growth and industry advancement.
