Ortom Absent as PDP Zoning Committee Submits Report to Ayu

THE  zoning committee, set up by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to zone the 2023 presidency and other elective offices in the country, has submitted its report to PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC).

Presenting the report on Tuesday, the Chairman of the committee, Dr Samuel Ortom, who is the Governor of Benue State, represented on the occasion, told members of the National Working Committee that the committee had finished the assignment given to it within the time frame as directed by NWC.

Governor Ortom, who was represented by the Secretary of the zoning committee, Mr Ndidi Elumelu, stated that the committee did the job given to it in fairness but refused to disclose the content of the report.

He however noted that the members of national working committee were obligated to make the report public.

Other members of the committee present at the presentation of the report included the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Baruna, Senator Abdul Ningi, and Aliyu Gusau, among others .

They both expressed happiness for the opportunity given to them to serve and promised to “avail themselves for another assignment when the need arises.”

Responding, the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr Iyorchia Ayu commended the committee for a job well done.

He promised to pass the report to members of the National Executive Committee who were in the better position to make public the committee report.

Ayu, who was visibly happy for the good job done within the shortest possible time of the assignment boasted that PDP was a peaceful party that had no crisis like the ruling All Progressive Congress.

He also expressed the readiness of the party to reclaim power from the APC.

He also promised to return PDP to its glorious days as they were poised to take over the presidency and leadership of the two chambers of National Assembly in next year’s general elections.

He urged members of the public to keep faith with the party by voting for all the candidates that were contesting elections on the platform of the PDP.
