Linking Dikwa With $76 million Allegation By Online Media Platforms is False, Baseless, Says Ijudigal

THE National Coordinator of ‘CarryGo’, a group for good governance, Hon Fali Tuliam Ijudigal has faulted claims levelled against Mohammed Dikwa by some Online Media platforms (Not National Compass), insisting that the reported publications and linking him with $76 million fraud were not only false but baseless.
Recall that some online media had reported and alleged that “Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has confirmed that one of its staff, Aisha Odariko, who was linked to a fraudulent case of stockpiling about $76 million cash of unexplained origin in a duplex in Abuja, was an account officer to Mohammed Kyari Dikwa, a retired permanent secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance”.
Although, Mr Kyari Dikwa, from Borno, once acted as accountant-general of the federation under President Muhammadu Buhari and retired from the civil service just before some of the hidden cash was looted.
The background of his relationship with Mrs Odariko was unclear, although some reports said they were both romantically involved.
But Ijudical in a statement while reacting to the allegation on Sunday said, “I am writing this rejoinder in my capacity as a concerned citizen of Nigeria, a law abiding indigene of Borno State and a responsible individual from Northeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria to address and refute the false accusations that have been made against mohammed Dikwa, a respected and dedicated Nigerian who has served our nation with utmost integrity and commitment.
“It has come to my attention that certain individuals or groups have been circulating unsubstantiated claims and accusations against Mohammed Dikwa as carried by Sahara reporters, Premium Times and other social media handles with the intention of tarnishing his reputation.
“As a responsible citizen, I feel compelled to set the record straight and present the truth behind these baseless allegations.
“First and foremost, it is crucial to emphasize that mohammed Dikwa has been an ardent advocate for the welfare and progress of our nation.
“Throughout his tenure as permanent Secretary, he has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to the well-being of the Nigerian people and has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at improving education, healthcare, infrastructure, and other critical sectors that directly impact the lives of our fellow citizens without recourse to any financial malfeasance.
“The accusations leveled against mohammed Dikwa are devoid of any factual basis or credible evidence. It is disheartening to witness the spread of misinformation and the use of false allegations as a means to undermine the reputation of an honorable individual who has devoted their life to public service.
“These malicious attempts to defame his name serve no purpose other than to obstruct progress and impede the betterment of our society.
“I urge the public and the media to exercise caution and due diligence when evaluating such allegations. It is imperative to differentiate between legitimate concerns and unfounded claims.
“It is only through responsible and unbiased reporting that we can maintain the trust of the public and ensure a healthy democratic process.
“I would also like to emphasize the importance of adhering to the principles of fairness, justice, and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
“Accusations should be supported by verifiable evidence before any conclusions are made. It is the duty of every responsible citizen to demand evidence-based claims and reject unsubstantiated rumors.
“In conclusion, I strongly reject the false accusations that have been made against mohammed Dikwa. I stand by the principle of truth and fairness and firmly believe that our nation’s progress depends on the support and encouragement of dedicated individuals like Mohammed Dikwa. I implore Nigerians to consider the evidence and facts objectively before forming any opinions or conclusions.” He butressed in the statement.
