A notable Canada-based stalwart of the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and one of the movers of the party in the North America diaspora section of the party, Mr. Francis G. Okoyo, more known as GFO, has congratulated Senator Monday Okpebholo (aka Akpakomiza), on his victory as flag-bearer of the party, in primary election exercise, held in Benin, towards the September, 2024 guber election holding in the state.
Mr. Okoyo, who was in the country for months to assist the party in the holding of the exercise, before going back, thanked the leadership and members of the state’s party, for deeming it fit to nominate Senator Okpebholo, saying that his widespread nomination across the three senatorial districts and the 18 local government areas (LGAs) of the state, indicated that the Okpebholo’s candidacy was very popular and well accepted by the party.
“It is also an indication that Senator Okpebholo, when elected by the Edo people, in the 2024 governorship election, was going to be a populist leader, who will run an all-inclusive government, with the Edo people and the APC family playing the leading role”. Asserted, Mr. Okoyo, a Chartered Accountant, Management Consultant and Behavioural Scientist, who was extensively educated within and outside Nigeria; and was a valuable topflight staff of multinational financial and economy-minded institutions, like the PriceWaterHouseCoopers.
GFO, an Entrepreneur, who is widely known for his philanthropic gestures in his nativity of Esan South East LGA of the state, in the country and abroad, called on all the twelve aspirants who were cleared to run for the exercise, particularly those who finally contested, to bury the hatchet and close their ranks, to support Senator Okpebholo, adding that there was nothing more ideal and fulfilling for the Edo APC, to reclaim the state in the said election.
“Edo state chapter of APC, our great party, would do the people the greatest desire if we win the election and rescue the people from the misrule of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), for the unbearable period it had been in power in the state” He maintained.
