Charles Idahosa Speaks Only When Hungry

FREEPRESS – It is an election period in Edo State; a season when political jobbers try to outsmart one another to catch the attention of their pay masters. It is a period of lies and eye service. It is equally a season when the lowest of the low seek relevance for pecuniary reward.

It is against this backdrop that one is not surprised to see and hear characters like one Charles Idahosa play to the gallery to impress his pay masters and to justify his office as a Political Adviser.

Only on Tuesday, 6th September, 2016, Mr. Idahosa was quoted in a national newspaper to have said that,” it is a shame that up till now former governor Igbinedion has not campaigned with Ize-Iyamu…”, among other infantile assertions.

Though His Excellency, Chief Lucky Igbinedion will not condescend to the level of bantering words with Idahosa, it is pertinent to stress however that Mr. Charles Idahosa lacks the authority to inquire why the former governor is not campaigning with the PDP guber candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu. By the way, is Charles Idahosa a member of the PDP? How does Chief Igbinedion’s campaigning or not campaigning affect Idahosa and his APC? No wonder it has been asserted that meddlesomeness is the companion of idleness.

For the information of Idahosa and his cohorts, chief Igbinadion since leaving office in 2007 has not been involved in partisan politics but has chosen to play the role of an elder statesman committing his time and energy in running his businesses.

Therefore, Charles Idahosa should not expect chief Igbinedion to be hopping from one place to another in the name of campaigns for such is the preserve of loafers like himself whose only known means of livelihood is boot-licking.

Everyone knows how Charles Idahosa behaves whenever he is broke and his antics of extorting money from his pay masters. One had thought that at 60 years Idahosa has outgrown of politics of falsehood.

It is sad to remember that Charles Idahosa who once called the Edo state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, all sorts of names prior to the 2007 election is today pandering to the whims and caprices of the same man he once called a monkey. How sweet are the mangoes falling from the claws of the monkey! Or is it out of place to say that whatever personal achievements Idahosa ever achieved in life are tied to his association with the PDP.

Perhaps, Idahosa thinks that Edo people have forgotten that he (Idahosa) was living in a rented apartment until he was appointed into the Igbinedion led PDP government. Does Charles Idahosa think that people have forgotten that the PDP government awarded to him the contracts for the establishment of the Ehor Fruit Juice factory and the completion of the Secretariat Building Extension behind the Palm House and other projects entrusted under his care for which he was found wanting?

Common sense should tell Charles Idahosa to keep quiet because if all was well with PDP while he served as Director of Protocols and later commissioner for Information, he can not turn around now to castigate the same regime for which he played a key role and benefited immensely.

His Excellency, Chief Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion sacked him as Director of Media and Govt House Protocol for incompetence, only to reabsorbed after series of intervention from stakeholders who gave undertaking that Charles Idahosa will improve on his relationship with the media.

Idahosa is over 60 years and a mature adult and so should be able to handle hunger instead of resorting to blackmail and trivialities for a pot of porridge.
