Again, Ambrose Alli University Management Exposed In Corruption Scandal, Defrauded 28 Overall Best Students Of N30,000 Each At 40 Years Anniversary
THE management of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma has been exposed in another act of grand corruption for sharing amongst themselves N30,000 (Thirty Thousand Naira only) released for twenty eight overall best students in fourteen faculties while marking the forty years anniversary of the University in 2021.
In a letter made available to Trojan News Media Correspondent in Ekpoma, by one of the overall best students who to ought to have benefited from the award of excellence and financial reward revealed that the money was collected from the system and shared amongst themselves with the approval of the then Acting Registrar of the Institution, Mr. Edward U. Aihevba and the Chairman of Ceremonial Committee, Prof. Omi Ujuanbi, under the watchful eyes of the illegal Special Intervention Team (SIT). More worrisome, is the fact that the present administration of Prof. Sunny Adagbonyin has swept the matter under the carpet base on his corrupt deposition.
The letter of complain addressed to Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, the managing Director, Media Plus Communication, the consultants of AAU at 40 celebration, and the (SIT) on 6th November, 2022 was never responded to.
“I am writing this letter in regards to the AAU at 40 awards of which I happened to be one of the students that merited the award but I was not invited, neither was I given the award by any
means.
“I heard that the sum of N30,000 (Thirty Thousand Naira Only) cash was given along side with the award and I was not given also.
“I am pleading with the Organizing Committee for the AAU at 40 award to help look into this complaint so that I can be given my due award and I will be glad if my request is given a favourable consideration.
Students who were shortchanged by the school management and Media Plus Communications are: -Ojeabulu Samuel uhunoma, Egwuatu Chinedu chukwudi, Kukoba Joshua Godspower, okunrobo Desmond Ikeponmwosa, Ehiwe Osaigboyo Endurance, Agbontan Junior, Otte Monday Ohiosimuan, Osechukwu chigowu Kennedy, Oridie Oscar, Nwokeabia Obinna, Ihimekpen Emua Ehijie, Asogun Daniel Osebor.
The rest students are Loyinmi Imisioluwa, Nwazodoni Chukwunomsue Juliana, Egwunatum Ndidi Jennifer, Ekhator Patience Precious, Aziegbe Blessing, Emelike Oniyinyechi Chizuruoke, Odita Adaku Tiffany, Ogagawuoria Josephine Ese, Ojo Beauty, Sede Charity Odufua, Osayabamwen Asisosa Treasure and Aluede Atohengbe onulunosen.
A Professor in the faculty of law, name withheld, via telephone conversation told Trojan News Media Correspondent that Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma is overburdened by endemic corruption from the Vice Chancellor to the lowest staff on the ladder.
“It’s unfortunate that the nation’s premier institution has been battered by clueless and airhead administrators under successive Managements, making it a breeding ground for fraud where friendship and family members are rewarded with the University’s appointments”, the University Don groaned.
Documents relating to the AAU forty years anniversary revealed that Mr Markus Mckane Okoebor handled the consultancy job for the AAU at 40. Efforts made to reach the University management, SIT, Mr. Edward Aihevba, Prof. Omi Ujuanbi and Mr. Markus Okoebor proved abortive at the time of filing this report.
