Why The Tinubu Vilification

Elempe Dele
Our grandfather nearly fell after possibly stepping on his agbada as the Jagaban. Some said he didn’t slump. Others said he nearly fell. They said he didn’t fall, he nearly fell. Some said he nearly slumped, others said he didn’t slump but nearly slumped but were helped up. Some said he fell but not to the ground.
The story of his courtship with the north as a bridge-builder is becoming so exciting like the cacophonous sounds of jazz music use to extract confessions from suspects. Even when he nearly fell or nearly slumped, there are reports of his meeting with the Ulamas and Imams there.
At least, in all, Tinubu didn’t try to fall into the enemy’s territories; I mean the South-South, South East, or South West…if he had tried so hard to fall there, he would have slumped as predicted and no one would have roused him to liveliness. This is why he didn’t care to visit the Shasha carnage where lives were lost and properties destroyed. He rather visited with #50 million ‘chicken change’ the market that was razed in Kastina. And they were all happy and called him the next president.  We must support him on this; you don’t give to those who hate you, you give to those who genuinely love you. The Kastina people, including the president, have a very deep-rooted love for him. They have the votes to make him the president so he knows what he is doing.
It might not really matter if markets get razed down here, or people were gunned down during the EndSars protest at the Lekki Toll Gate where it is reported he makes money, or a Yoruba lady, Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, was gunned down by his compatriots, the Fulani herders. He will ask,
“where are the cows” if they were herders just to soothe the gerontologist, Buhari.
His strategic thinking is fair; if he speaks ill of this government like Senator Aberibe, he cannot make it as the president of Naija he must become in 2023, whether we like it or not. His only contender is Yahaya Bello, who is slightly leading in opinion polls there in APC. Yahaya Bello has earned his place as a performing governor who’s developmental strides cannot be seen by ordinary people except those with prescient perceptions. His works in Kogi State are both Transparently transcendental and mysterious.
So when next you want to vilify Tinubu, make sure you understand his thinking. In politics, charity does not begin at home. He is a very sophisticated politician. Even if Buhari is carried on a wheelchair today, Tinubu will rather support him so that Buhari’s time will come and go for him to take over than question anything about his governmence, especially on the issues of nepotism, tribalism, security and integrity. You stoop to conquer. And no doubt, Buhari will support him because he has supported Buhari enough with his silence even when Afenifere keeps urging him to speak up.
And again, Tinubu would rather slump into the hands of his friends; the Arewa people, rather than slump into the hands of the Yoruba or Niger Delta people or the Igbos. These sets are his sworn enemies if you put it into perspective. They wouldn’t have held him up the way the Arewa people did today…they would have allowed him to fall to rise no more like a crumbling house he is today.
