Why Ganduje, Barau Visits Residence of Former Commissioner For LGs
Kano state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the Senator representing Kano North Barau Jibrin have visited the anointed deputy governorship Aspirant of APC, Murtala Sule Garo, house past midnight to stop him from taking any position that will be injuriouse to the APC as a party.
The governor private outing without Motorcade, visited the Railway Quarters residence of Hon Murtala Garo to persuade him to remain in APC.
A source familiar with the visit said Ganduje was the first to arrive at the residence before Mr Jibrin later joined him.
The source added that the trio held a closed door meeting.
Mr Garo had recently expressed worries over Mr Ganduje’s withdrawal from senate contest for Mr Jibrin, who is his arch political enemy.,
It was reliably gathered that Hon Garo felt betrayed with his enormous contribution to forming the government in 2015 and 2019 in Kano with some of the actions of governor Ganduje, especially his withdrawal from the Senate contest and the return of his political arch-rival, Barau Jibrin to their fold.
‘’ You see Murtala , Commander as he his popularly called, is not happy with bringing Barau Jibrin who was an arrow head that put them through a lot of stress up to the Supreme Court over the leadership of the party into their midst again,’’ the source said.
In The source said the protest over the decision, as well as the governor’s alleged failure to manage mass defections in the party, Garo boycotted functions within and outside the Government House, leaving the flag-bearer, Nasir Gawuna, politically desolate.
