UNIMAID Acting VC, UNDP collaborates to set up UNIPORT

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele has reiterated the institution’s commitment to collaborate with the United Nation Development Program (UNDP) to ensure creativity and innovational development.


Professor Mele made this known on Thursday when he recieved a team from the UNDP, led by Yakaka Bukar Mandra in his office at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building of the university.

The VC then commended the Organization for choosing the University in such partnership, which he described as timely.

In her remarks, the UNDP Community Mobilizer, who doubles as the Team lead, Yakaka Bukar Mandra, explained to the Acting Vice-Chancellor that the Uniport project is a project that is developed by the UNDP across seven (7) Universities in Nigeria to serve as a centres of innovation and a creativity hub for students training.

She added that the UNDP are in the university to key into the vision and mission sets in motion by Professor Mele in consolidating the numerous academic and social developments in the institution.
