AS encomiums continue to pour in for monumental achievements and selfless services rendered in his eight years of representation at the Nigerian House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Deacon Sergius Oseasochie Ogun has yet again been recognised and awarded for his sterling performances in the green chambers.
The award of “The 2022 Lawmaker of the Year Award” on the member representing Esan South-East/Esan North East federal constituency of Edo state, Paradigm Communications Ltd, publishers of National Daily and National Standard newspapers held at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos on Friday, with so much pomp and pageantry as very important personalities in Nigeria graced the occasion.
Speaking to Truth Live News after the award, Hon. Ogun considered the recognition as a great gesture as he appreciated the organisers and Paradigm communications.
He said: “I feel great for the recognition, knowing that people are watching what one is doing “.
“It is a motivation to do more for mankind, the lawyer and businessman opined.

Reviewing some of the remarkable achievements of Deacon Sergius Ogun which stand him out as one of the best lawmakers ever to have come out of Edo state and thus qualified him to be so recognised, the organisers stated; “National Daily Awards, after consideration of your quality representation in the National Assembly, and the delivery of dividends of democracy, to your constituent, Esan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Edo State.
“You showed a passion for promotion of education, healthcare, wealth creation, youth and women empowerment, thus, established Sergius Oseasochie Ogun Foundation (SOOF) in 2007 to promote interventionist empowerment schemes, which include the yearly provision of funds to pay off enrolment fees of 600 pupils for NECO/SSCE examinations, University scholarship to best-performing students; annual distribution of free notebooks to primary and secondary school students, medical outreaches – offering beneficiaries medical diagnoses, drugs, eye test, medicated eyeglasses.

The letter of nomination sent to Hon. Ogun and sighted by the online newspaper reads in parts:
“Your interventionist activities impacted the lives of over 50,000 people in the past 10 years.
“The Board of Editors of National Daily acknowledged your attraction of over 60 development projects to various communities in EsanNorth East/EsanSouthEast Federal Constituency, which include construction of several roads, rehabilitation and building of classrooms, primary healthcare centres, provision of Solar Street lights, among others, and, therefore, considered you suitable for conferment of the Lawmaker of The Year Award 2022.
