Nigerian Former Ambassador To Italy, Yusuf Jogan, NUNAI Welfare Officer Insist Osemwingie-Ero Was Jailed For Cultism, Human Trafficking 

NIGERIAN immediate past Ambassador to Italy, Ambassador Yusuf Jogan has told our correspondent that Hon. Osaze Osemwingie-Ero was actually arrested by the Italian Government for alleged cult related issues and human trafficking while he was the Ambassador to the country.

Ambassador Jogan position was corroborated by the Welfare Officer of National Union of Nigeria in Italy (NUNAI), Pastor Oputteh Ifeoluwa Mike. Mr. Oputteh told Trojan.com.ng that Hon. Osemwingie-Ero was economically with the obvious reasons for which he was arrested.

Shocked by Mr. Osemwingie-Ero’s alleged lies, the former Ambassador said, “I read about it online in the morning.

“The Special Adviser to Senator Iwobi later forwarded same to me and requested for my opinion.

“I told him “Probably, a personal opinion after what he experienced.

“He may be right or wrong. Everywhere in the world people criticize the judicial system, calling for reforms.

“Osaze, from reliable information has been a cult member right from his university days. He was accused of human trafficking, exploitation of girls for prostitution and cultists by the Italian government.

“Knowing that he was on wanted list, he has been avoiding Italy for over five years.

“He never knew that information about him was shared by Italy with Europol, hence he was arrested in Netherlands and sent to Italy to face his charges.

“I guess there was no enough evidence to jail him, hence he was set free. Looking at his allegations, to me, it is a propaganda.

“We have 100,000 Nigerians living legally and engaged in legal businesses in Italy. Those in prison have questions to answer.

“The host authorities will not just come for them if they don’t have anything against them.

“In the last three years, we have witnessed open confrontations between Nigerian cult groups, who butcher themselves with axe and other dangerous weapons, in many regions across Italy.

“I can confirm that Nigerian cult groups are very prominent in Italy”, Ambassador Yusuf Jogan said.

NUNAI Welfare Officer, Pastor Oputteh confirming Ambassador Jogan said he was perplexed that Hon. Osemwingie-Ero lied all through the Arise Television interview.

Hon. Osemwingie-Ero ought to have be thankful to the former Ambassador, Edo State former Attorney-General, Prof Yinka Omoregbe, the former Chief Of Staff to Governor Godwin Obaseki, Mr. Taiwo Akerele and the (NUNAI) for saving him from permanent imprisonment.

“I’m a principal witness to the Hon. Osemwingie-Ero judicial litigation against him because I travelled to Torino to secure his arrest.

“When he was arrested I called the wife and his brother in the US.

“What actually happened was the that Hon. Osemwingie-Ero was alleged to have been involved in human trafficking and cultism.

“Italian authorities were said to have monitored his telephone conversation with the people he was dealing with.

“Even the police and his lawyers and the Italian police told us that he was arrested for human trafficking and cultism.

“When the court wanted to put him in a house arrest, I made my house available for him in Sicily and the Nigerian Embassy also made provision for him in Rome but the court refused because the court wanted his house arrest in Torino.

“It’s a blatant lie that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Jogan have been watching while over 300 Nigerians are languishing in prisons across Italy.

“Even some of our people residing in Italy without without proper documentations are being housed by the Italian Government at the same time feeding them and paying them monthly allowance.

I will advise Hon. Osemwingie-Ero to shelve his protest to Italian Embassy in Abuja because he will be exposing himself the more at the same time ruining his political career.

“Hon. Osemwingie-Ero lied that the Italian justice system is corrupt and the judges and courts officials are swimming in corruption.

“Not too long ago the Nigerian Embassy visited prisons in Ferara and other places and free eight Nigerians who have been jailed for violating the the country’s laws, Pastor Oputteh said.
