Niger Republic Remains Essential Member – MNJTF

THE MNJTF has countered misleading reports suggesting the withdrawal of Sector 4 Niger from the body. In a statement released on Sunday by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Chief Military Public Information Officer in Ndjamena, Chad, it was emphasized that these insinuations are false and lack official correspondence. The statement stressed that Niger remains an integral member of the MNJTF.

The MNJTF was established with the objective of creating a safe and secure environment in areas affected by the activities of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups. Niger, along with other member countries, plays a crucial role in achieving this mandate. The statement further clarified that at no point has there been any official communication regarding Niger’s withdrawal or exit from the MNJTF.

The MNJTF cautioned that these insinuations undermine the collaborative efforts and commitment of all member countries in their fight against terrorism and insecurity in the region. Media outlets and individuals were urged to verify information from credible sources before broadcasting or disseminating it further.

Emphasizing its commitment to promoting peace, security, and stability in the region, the MNJTF highlighted the importance of accurate reporting to maintain public trust and confidence in their collective efforts.
