NICOP Supports 27, 000 Nigerians To Boost Trades, Generate Income,  Provide  Employments To Others — Vinambres, By ABDULLAHI RABIU, Kano

THE Head of Nigeria Competitiveness  Project supported by the German Co-operation, Co funded by European Union EU  Mrs Ana Vinambres has said that the Non Governmental Organisation has so far supported Twenty Seven thousand Men and Women across the Country with a view to assist them grow their trades as well as make them to stand on their feets.
Vinambres made the disclosure on Wednesday in Kano during the Peer Learning Workshop for Self Financing Communities (SFC) held at Ni’ima Guest Palace  Hotel, Kano.
The NICOP Head said the sum of Eleven Million Euros had been earmarked by EU to further advanced the support extended by her group on its various on -going interventions  in Nigeria.
” We are in Kano to train Farmers, Artisans to boost their businesses and to support leather garments, Tomatoes Farmers increase  their added Value Chains by increasing the quality of their products and to help them to access new Markets abroad, And have Access to finance and investments .”
She revealed that it is the concerned of NICOP to also support Women beneficiaries have internal savings machanisms and improved their financial displine as well as  work towards setting up savings and loans groups, improved the way they are keeping their trading history so that they can access soft loans from  internal sources and  Commercial banks.
Mrs Vinambres stated further that NICOP initiative had started yielding positive results through Empowering Farmers, MSMES,  Artisans, to generate more income and employments to the people .
The Head  of NICOP had so far supported twenty Women groups with each group having twenty membership both  Men and Women .
She said the NGO had spread its tentacles in Seven States now including Kano,  Lagos, Oyo, Ondo, Abia, Kaduna, and Plateau States and Twenty Seven Thousand people have benefitted so far.
On his part, the Director of Cooperatives  and representative of the state government at the event Alhaji Misbahu  Sani applauded the efforts of NICOP and far reaching initiatives  in organising such an interactive session aimed at enlightening participants on how to do business professionally instead of  going about it traditionally.
He apealed to the  participants to strictly work in agreement with  they have been taught  to improve quality and productivity
