Manchester City Generate EPL Record £712.8 Million In Revenue

MANCHESTER CITY recorded £712.8 million in revenue for the 2022–2023 fiscal year to become the first Premier League club to make so much in one season.

This is more than Manchester United’s record £648.4 million, an increase of £99.8 million from the previous season.

The £80.4 million profit for Manchester City beats the club record of £41.7 million set at the end of the 2021-2022 season.

Manchester City made this financial record after becoming the first Premier League club to win the treble – Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League last season, since 1999 when Manchester City achieved the feat.

Manchester City’s financial statement shows increases in each of the club’s primary revenue streams. Broadcasting revenue increased by 20.2% to £299.4 million. City claimed that this was due to their success in the FA Cup and Champions League.

The first team’s performance, rule changes, and the 115 financial charges the Premier League brought against them in February are just a few of the “many risks and uncertainties which could have a material impact on the club’s performance” that are mentioned in the report.

Through player sales, Manchester City have brought in £121.7 million for the fiscal year 2022–2023. The club does, however, project that the total value of transactions completed after June 30, 2023, including the departures of Cole Palmer, Riyad Mahrez, Aymeric Laporte, and James Trafford, was approximately £84 million. These transactions included the signings of Jeremy Doku, Mateo Kovacic, Josko Gvardiol, and Matheus Nunes.

On the other hand, City have agreed to pay over £262 million in “transfer fees, signing on fees, and loyalty bonuses” if certain conditions are met, in addition to a nearly £70 million wage increase to £422.89 million.
