Lamido, Turaki 2 Political Giants To Beat in Jigawa —Farouk Adamu Aliyu

A gubernatorial Aspirant in Jigawa state, on the platform of All Progessives Congress, APC, Farouk Adamu Aliyu, has said that two former governors of the state, Sule Lamido and Saminu Turaki, who have recently team up in PDP to give a serious political fight will not change anything they are bound to lose election come 2023.

He said although the two former governors are two political giants that any aspiring politician will not joke with.

Aliyu stated this during a Press Conference to declare his intention to contest for Jigawa state governorship in the ruling APC in the state,

He said Sule Lamido, command leadership and he is respected in the opposition People Democratic Party, (PDP) in Jigawa,

Aliyu said the former governor had annointed his biological Son, Mustapha Sule Lamido to vie for the gubernatorial seat in the state on the platform of PDP.

Also, Turaki, who governed the state from 1999-2007, under the PDP, had recently returned to the party from APC and the two are joining forces to send the APC government parking. ”

However, Aliyu said the two former governors would not be a threat to him if given the mandate to fly the APC’s flag in the 2023 governorship election.

According to him, “there is no doubt that Sule Lamido and Saminu Turaki are two political giants in Jigawa state and one cannot undermined their relevance in the move to select the best person to govern the state.

“Whoever said Lamido and Turaki are nobody in Jigawa politics is deceiving himself.”

“However, despite their political prowess, one will not rule out the fact that they can be defeated in an election .

I shall beat them hands down if I finally grab the APC ticket in this state,” he said.

Aliyu, a former House of Representatives member, declared that he would not step for anybody among the aspirants, having done so in 2015 and 2019 as a personal saceifice.

According to him, the Jigawa state governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, is yet to annoint anybody as his successor, as his counterparts in other states did.

Aliyu promised to consolidate on the incumbent governor’s achievements in agriculture, education, infrastructure and health, among others so as to move the state forward.
