Killer Of Elizabeth Owie, Festus Idahosa On Election Day, Ehizogie Omorogbe Arrested In Edo

NOTORIOUS Ehizogie Omorogbe, popularly known as Ehis and a serial killer who is suspected to have been responsible for the murder of Mrs Elizabeth Owie aged 42, a nursing mother of four children and Mr Festus Idahosa aged 33 on election day has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force in Benin City.

Both victims were killed during the February 25th Presidential and National Assembly general elections in 2023 at Ogheghe Community.

The arrest came following agitations from Faculty of Peace Organization, a Benin based Human Rights group and other human rights organizations that reacted to their murder by drawing the attention of the police authority. The people of Ogheghe community have been living in fear as the dreaded Ehis had boasted around after coming out from his hideouts.

Ehis is said to have been threatening some persons in the community that he has been killing people and getting way with it. In the past, Ehis accused of alleged murder of the two sons of Enogie of Ogheghe 1 community and escaped justice.

Mechal Augbowam, the Enogie of Ogheghe Community 1 children who were allegedly murdered by Ehis and his gang are Patrick Augbowam and Winfred Augbowam, respectively.

The human rights group promised to give the police authority useful information for the prosecution of Mr Ehis who goes about with bullet wounds found around his stomach that revealed his regular involvement in kidnapping activities. Ehis is also alleged to be in possession of a beretta Pistol with which he commit crime.

When contacted about Ehis arrest, the victims’ family thank the government for coming to their aid and for fulfilling its promise to bring the perpetrators to book and that they have already taken solace in God by putting everything in His hands.

“We knew that nemesis is going to catch up with anyone who has a hand in the killing of our dearly beloved wife and mother”, a member of late Mrs Elizabeth Owie’s family from Delta State told Trojan News Media when contacted.

The rights group commended the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police and the Edo state Government for the swift arrest of Ehizogie Omorogbe while praying that the rest criminal gang members will also be apprehended in no distance time.

The group urges the Edo state government to give urgent attention to their recommendation on those killed in electoral violence in the just concluded election to forestall future reoccurrences.
