Intrigues Of Edo Gubernatorial Election, By Uyi Macaulay

~ APC’s Resort to Cutting Corners .

THE All Progressives Congress (APC) having shot themselves on the foot by presenting an unsellable candidate and being unable to move at the pace at which the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the major contending party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State is moving, appears to be relying on expedient measures rather than formulating a comprehensive campaign strategy to ensure success in the upcoming election. This suggests a lack of awareness amongst the APC actors regarding the prevailing circumstances in the political terrain in the state.

The populace of Edo has progressed and advanced to a stage where they are no longer swayed by mere propaganda when it comes to casting their votes. They now base their choices on their individual evaluations of the candidates’ competencies rather than their political affiliations.

Among the prominent contenders in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State, one aspirant distinguishes himself through his proven track record, capabilities, and dedication to effecting positive transformations in the lives of the citizens. Dr. Asue Ighodalo, representing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is renowned for his standing and proficiency.

Dr. Asue Ighodalo possesses the requisite expertise to elevate Edo State to a self-reliant and self-sustaining entity within Nigeria and the African continent. In addition to his intellectual acumen, he also exhibits strong interpersonal abilities that enable him to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds in Edo and beyond.

Through his interactions and engagements during the campaign, Dr. Asue Ighodalo has demonstrated his steadfast commitment to carrying the people of Edo State along with him in his governance should he be elected as the Governor. This dedication to inclusivity and advancement distinguishes him as a promising leader for the state.

The erroneous assertion by the half-baked lawyer, Barr. Andrew Ewanta that the Edo State PDP Primaries has been cancelled pushed the APC and LP members into the celebration of premature and fictitious electoral victory. Not until such a declaration or nullification of a primary election is issued by a court with appropriate jurisdiction, no individual or entity (such as INEC) has the authority to presume and declare that such primary election has been cancelled or rendered void, and proceed to act based on this assumed position.

In the current situation, it is even more incumbent on the plaintiffs to pursue additional clarification in the appellate court, if their plans was to nullify the Edo State PDP primary election (which they lack jurisdiction), because the relief sought by them was for the court to include them as valid delegates to vote in the primary election. This was what the Judge granted them. Unfortunately, the primary election has been long done, which means that events have overtaken their wrongly celebrated value-less judgement as the PDP primary election remains valid and the candidacy of their candidate remains in force until a court rules otherwise.

Vote Dr. Asue Igjodalo.
Vote PDP.
Vote for prosperous Edo.
Vote wisely.
