PRESIDENT of Association of Coastal and Waterways Communities of Nigeria (ACWCN) Bawo Ighomi has appealed to the Federal Government to inaugurate Niger Delta Development Company (NDDC) board.
Ighomi spoke at the inauguration of 25 local government ACWCN executives in Delta State.
The inauguration, he said, would enhance ACWCN’s activities.
“This will also assist the government in protecting the waterways communities. We will work with NDDC to monitor projects and hold town hall meetings with communities, on behalf of NDDC, to know their needs, instead of dumping irrelevant projects on them,” he said.
Ighomi urged NDDC to submit list of projects and names of contractors handling them to ACWCN for monitoring and proper execution of those projects.
