Police Speak On Reported Assassination Attempt On Yahaya Bello

THE Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has expressed deep shock over the sudden death of the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government, Mohammed Dan Asabe.

Trojan News Media reported that Dan Asabe died in the early hours of Friday at a Lokoja hospital over a brief illness.

Reacting to the demise, Bello, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Onogwu, on Friday in Lokoja, described Dana Asabe’s death as a monumental tragedy and heartbreaking.

Bello eulogised the council chairman’s unique qualities of tolerance, friendliness, and passion for the well-being of his people.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the soul of Dan Asabe eternal rest while asking God to give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

The governor, who also attended the funeral rites of the late Lokoja Local Government chairman, urged the family and the people of the council area to accept the incident as the will of Allah.

He said, “Hon. Dan Asabe was a hardworking, dedicated, and compassionate young man who was a friend to all.

“His demise is a monumental tragedy, leaving deep sorrow in the hearts of everyone.

“I am deeply shocked and devastated at the news of Dan Asabe’s death. His untimely passing is heartbreaking and painful.

“I have lost a reliable associate, a great confidant, and an administrator who toiled tirelessly for the betterment of his people.”
