THE National Harmonized traders Union, has asked the Diocese of Sokoto, Reverend Mathew Hassan Kukah to stop the unnecessary verbal bashing and unwarranted attacks on President Muhammadu Buhari’s government or should take the bull by the horn and join active politics.
The Traders Union,  appealed to the Minister of Information Lai,  Presidential Spokespersons, Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu to ignore  Reverend Matthew kukah to continue with his public rantings and condemnation of the government until he invites the wrath  of the law.
Responding to recent attacks on the Presidency by Recerend Mathew Kukah, the National President of the Union, Dr Bature Abdul’Aziz, said,  “we Nigerians have comprehensively understood what his mission is, If his primary purpose is to protect the Country, then this is not the most efficient approach for the said job”
“Instead, people see him as constantly trying to bring misunderstanding and confusion in the Country. The Reverend confidently hide under the  guise of religion to embark on distructive comments that will mean no good to any one.
Bature said, “the vital requirement the nation has for religious leaders, regardless of their individual affiliations  is to offer their impartial, neutral religious support and moral support to Citizens and those responsible for governance.
“Every citizen who is knowledgeable in any form should have respect for both religions because they emanated from from Almighty God. Nigerians are gradually loosing the respect and high regard they once had for the  Reverend, especially the good people of Sokoto state where he is  residing “
He added that, “the enthusiasm, determination and consistent demonstration of your personal interests is to promote your own personal interest. This constant behavior to slander the Country might soil the name of the historic state of Sokoto.
