FORMER Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly and Chairman ,House Committee on Pension, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, has announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), this is even as Senator Barau Jibrin a gubernatorial Aspirant of the Party in Kano denied defection to any party.
Rurum, a gubernatorial aspirant in APC, spoke to reporters over the  phone that with the way things are happening in the Party shows that some people are hellbent in choosing thier own candidates rather than allowing internal democracy to prevail.
Rirum who is gunning for Governorship in Kano, said he has done all he could to ensure that a level  playing ground is  allowed in the cause of party politicking but the powers that be in the party frustrated his efforts.
Kabiru Alhassan Rirum said it  is unfair at this dispensation to deny Kano South the chance to produce the next governor hence they have not gotten that opportunity since 1992.
He said he is considering joining forces with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso NNPP to ensure that his South Senatorial District produce the next Governor of Kano State.
This is coming as another speculation is spreading in town  that Senator Barau Jibrin and also a Gubernatorial Aspirant of the APC has defected  an allegations that was quickly denied by the Senator.
Barau Jibrin said in a telephone interview that he will remain in the party and he is not thinking of going out of it anytime soon.
