Rev. Obadan, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State said Dr Fayemi’s role in the Fourth Republic calls for celebration owing to the role he played with the radio Kudirat that returned the nation to democratic rule.

On his part, Dr Fayemi said it’s home coming for him to Edo State because many of his compatriot and political allies are the political leaders in the State.

He promised to curtail the security challenges plaguing the country if voted into the nation’s Presidency in 2023.

Dr Fayemi who holds PhD in War Studies said the struggle to put security challenges behind us as a nation is to approach it technologically as well as through intelligence gathering.

He harps on the necessity of state policing, regardless of the cynicism around it because all serious democracies globally deal with the issues of insecurity from local to Federal levels.

Dr. Fayemi recognised Rev. Obadan’s contribution who was one of the strongest forces who ensured that Nigeria was returned to democratic rule.

“I’m pleading to you to vote for me as an aspirant of our great political party on a compassionate ground, because of my commitment to democracy, my dedication to resolving security issues across the country amongst legion of issues bedeviling the nation.

“I’m here for interactions with you on how to move the nation forward in a manner that everyone of us will be proud of our country because I’m not a repository of knowledge”, Dr Fayemi said.

One of the fourteen House of Assembly members who Governor Godwin Obaseki declined to be swore said Edo State APC delegates will vote for Dr Kayode Fayemi massively.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu also commended Dr Fayemi for his contribution during the 2020 Governorship election which he contested on the platform of the APC.

The pastor said “Edo people are worried about the possible disintegration of our great party because nine days to the national convention we’re yet to get a green light as to the direction the party is going”.

Ize-Iyamu pleaded with Dr Fayemi and other of his colleagues as the chairman of Governor’s Forum not to allow the party to die.
