Dr Tony Ezekiel Receives PDP Clearance Certificate, Addresses State Working Committee For Support

A SENATORIAL Aspirant for the Edo North Senatorial District Doctor Tony Ohimefe Ezekiel  has called on the National Working Committee of the PDP to back his aspiration of becoming the next Senator representing the district area in the 10th Assembly for progress and development.

Ezekiel who has just received the PDP Clearance Certificate,  addressed members of  State Working Committee and  urged them to back his contest.

Dr. Ezekiel louded Dr. Tony Aziegbemi’s leadership qualities and his repositioning of the party as exemplified by the seamless screening exercise which is a clear departure from the past experiences.

He said in the past  people use to  come for screening with their beddings to sleep for days before they

are eventually screen by the party.

He urged the party leadership to throw its weight behind him in the interests of fairness, equity, and justice.

“Owan West where he came from,  is the only local government area that has never produced a Senator since time immemorial.

While going down memory lane,  he gave the names of the past  Senators who have represented Edo North in the past as follow:

 Senator John Umolu from 1979 to 1983, an Agenebode, in Etsako East; Senator Franca Afegbua who was elected  in 1983 from Okpella, Etsako East; Senator Albert Legogie between 1990 and 1993, Ekperi in Etsako Central;

Others are Senator Victor Oyofo who served between 1999 and 2007 (two terms) from Auchi in Etsako West; Senator Yisa Braimoh served between 2007 and 2011 (one term) from Ihievbe in Owan East;

It include among others Senator Domingo Obende between 2011 and 2015 (one term) from Igara in Akoko-Edo and Senator Francis Alimikhena from Imiengba in Etsako East, respectively.

Dr. Ezekiel said besides the fact that Owan West was the only Local Government Area won by the PDP in 2020 governorship election, he has paid his due for the party over the last two decades.

“I want to reassure you Mr. Chairman that I will not be derailed from the core values of PDP because my integrity is my strength and my competence has brought me to where I am today. “

Responding, the State Chairman lauded Engr Ezekiel for his foreright as a man who has excelled in numerous field of human endeavors and a successful business Mogul in the Country.

He ssid he stand as the best Senatorial aspirant with capability  to transform Edo North and Nigeria if elected into the Senate. Come 2023.

“For fairness, equity and justice, Owan West should be supported by all lovers of democracy if  politics of inclusion is some thing to go by”
