DEMOCRACY DAY: Chief Dan Orbih Message

FREEPRESS – It’s often said that the worst Democratic Govt is better than the best military Govt. To that extent, Nigerians are observing Democracy day. Not celebrating.

Coincidentally, this is the worst democratic Govt since independence. The economy is in shambles. Insecurity of lives, bad roads, bastardised judiciary and a government that is second to none in denied Presidential assent to bills.

Coming at the heels of the worst elections ever held, we are observing Democracy day on a day that Nigerians are reminded of Abiola who is adjudged as the winner of the most transparent, free and fair election ever conducted.

The National Assembly should urgently revisit the electoral law to strengthen the electoral process as it affects the card readers in the conduct of elections.

Nigerians are losing faith in our electoral process and it is certainly not good for our democracy. We are democratically retarded by our inability to conduct free and fair elections. obvious lapses and re-miss on the part of INEC must be dealt with and those concerned should be removed for us to move forward.

Chief Dan Osi Orbih,
Chairman PDP
Edo State.
