‘Dcn Patrick Ahonkhai Giwa Convoy Attacked By Hoodlums Lead by Blessing Agbebaku And Barr Jimoh Ijegbai’
I received with utmost disgust the false and uncouth allegations published on social media platforms by one Oise Fredrick, wherein, he made a malicious, weighty, untrue and misleading claim that I, Blessing Agbebaku, the SHOA PDP Candidate for Owan West Constituency, alongside, Barr Jimoh Ijegbai, the HoR PDP Candidate, Owan Federal Constituency, led hoodlums to attack Dcn Patrick Ahonkhai Giwa.
I would have chosen the path of ignoring this nebulous claim, but for the sake of the general public and the times we are in currently, it became imperative to set records straight.
As a thoroughbred University of Benin product and a custodian of moral and ethical conduct, it is certainly out of place to even think of sending hoodlums to attack a person that is not even my rival. The society has gone beyond the era of ‘crude politics’ which divides and take society backwards.
One would have expected the publisher of the ‘false alarm’ to have carefully investigated the matter, before coming up with hastily built one-paragraph story with sole aim of misinforming the public and the right thinking members of the society.
For record purposes, I clearly state as follows:
1. That I have no hoodlums or thugs.
2. That I had no knowledge or part of the attack on Patrick Ahonkhai Giwa as being circulated.
3. That as the duly recognized PDP SHOA Candidate in Owan West, it is highly unthinkable and out of place to be part of what draws us backwards.
4. We urge the reading public to disregard this allegations as it is deeply alien to my personality.
Consequent upon this allegation and the injuries the publication caused my personality and political ambition, I demand a retraction of the story by the author of the false allegation within the next FORTY-EIGHT (48) hour or hear from my legal team or face the legal consequences of the libelous statement. He is also to publish the retraction of the false accusation in the same social media platforms within these period given.
We appeeal to our numerous and ever increasing supporters to continue preach peace as they canvass support for our great Party, PDP and refuse to be distracted.
