Benin Communities Call On Obaseki, FG, Dangote To Fix Fail Road As Pregnant Women Gives Birth On The Spot After Five Hours

COMMUNITIES along Benin Sapele road axis of the ancient city of Benin in the Edo State capital has called on Governor Godwin Obaseki, President Muhammadu Buhari and Alhaji Aliko Dangote to urgently fix the failed portion of the road directly opposite former RCC construction sight.

The communities comprising Evbukhu; Oghoghobi, Ekai, Ogheghe and many other blocked the road for several hours in an attempt to air their grievances on the dilapidated road, causing the pains and anguish annual.

A few of the inscriptions on the placards read: “We are tired of swimming on the road”, “Good road is a right, not a privilege”, “Road is a Blessing not a curse if the roads are good”, Relocate Dangote trucks from RCC now”, Enough is enough”.

Mr. Chris who spoke on behalf of the protesters said a pregnant woman gave birth on the failed portion of road two days ago after spending five hours on the spot on her way to Stella Obaseki women and children hospital as a result of traffic congestion.

“Governor Godwin Obaseki should come to our aid because he is the closest government to us, eventhough it’s a federal highway. We voted for him as Edo people, and we’re demanding that he fix the road urgently.

“Our children can’t go to school as a result of the bad spot, man hours at lost on a daily basis and our vehicles go bad every other day because the road.

“We’re tired of the excuses from the governments. “Enough is enough”, Mr. Chris said
