Army University Sets To Hold Maiden Convocation

THE Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) which as established in 2018 will hold its maiden convocation ceremony on Saturday, 28 October 2023 at the university’s Sports Pavilion, Biu, Borno State.

This according to the Registrar of the institution, Brigadier General  Harbo Abdulhamid, in a press statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Friday, said, during the ceremony, “it will confer the First Degrees to 485 deserving graduating students and Honorary Doctorate Degrees to some deserving eminent Nigerians including the Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Yusuf Tukur Buratai, who had played a critical role for the establishment of the University.

“Programmes lined up to mark the historic convocation ceremony include First Convocation Golf Kitty, First Convocation Lecture, Chancellor’s Night, First Convocation and Fifth Foundation Day, and Formal Installation of its First Chancellor, His Royal Majesty, Major General (rtd) Felix Mujakperuo, CFR mni, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom.” The Registrar stated.

While shedding more light on activities lined up, he explained that, already, the First Convocation Golf Kitty was held last Thursday, 20-22nd October 2023, in addition to First Convocation Lecture Title: “Disarmament, Demobilisation, Reconciliation, and Reintegration of Disengaging Insurgents in North-East Nigeria: Way Forward”, delivered by Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf (rtd) OFR, former Commandant, Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna state.

He further stressed that the First Convocation and Fifth Foundation Day, as well as the Formal Installation of its First Chancellor, His Royal Majesty, Major General (retd) Felix Mujakperuo, CFR mni, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom and the award of first degrees and the conferring of honorary doctorate degrees to some deserving eminent personalities are billed to take place on Saturday, 28th October 2023 at NAUB Sports Complex by 10 o’clock in the morning.
