THE emergence of a rare bred individual like Mr. Sunny Aguebor into the senatorial political turf of Edo South Senatorial District calls for utmost celebration for those who knew him for his catholicity, clarity of purpose, unassailable wisdom and seminar thoughts in legislative and business leadership. Though, he’s a man of many part that dots, dominates and illuminates any parts he crosses. Average Edo persons can attest to his unassuming and dispassionate world views when it comes to purposeful governance, human capacity building, society peace and stability.

An amiable personage of repute, his entrance into the race, even without whispering a word yet, has sent shocking signals and waves across Edo South political strata with positive responses from those who think his coming for a ‘Rescue Mission’ is rather long overdue. Having stepped down in the past for less of his equals, toiled tirelessly for other to emerge victorious in several political campaigns, churning out millions of naira of his personal earnings, 2023 is certainly a pay back time for him for the globally acknowledged philanthropist per excellence.

Born on the 23rd of May 1963 to the family of Chief Moses Erhunwenbibi Aguebor, the obaogboi of Bini Kingdom and Mrs Annah Aguebor, a successful business woman of essence, the young Aguebor attended Iguodala primary school in Benin. Thereafter, he proceeded to the renowned Edo College in Benin City where he obtained both secondary school leaving certificate and higher school leaving certificate (HSC).

Not long afterwards, the young energetic trailblazer was admitted into the University of Lagos in 1983, where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree from the faculty of business administration in 1986. As a result of his quest for embracing new challenges and search for greater task ahead in life, he left the shores of Nigeria in 1988 to Japan where he worked with several Japanese companies till he established BiBi Intercontinental transactions company with headquarter in Chiba there in Japan.

BiBi Intercontinental with one of the biggest container terminals in Japan was basically involved in export of Japanese goods globally. In 1998, Mr Sunny Aguebor saw the need to invest in Nigeria. He started with BiBi Motels and Suites in GRA Benin City. The same year, he established BiBi petroleum located at kilometre 6 along Sapele Road, Benin City.

Aside that, Mr. Sunny Aguebor is the chairman of Erhunwenbibi farms which has created numerous job opportunities for Edo people in the past twenty two years. Erhuwenbi foundation has given scholarship to selected Edo indigens over the last twenty two years. Edo South in particular and Nigeria at large will be lucky to have a man like Mr Sunny Aguebor in public office in this era of misplaced opportunities and aborted chances.
