Professor Ker, Former Benue State University And Veritas University VC, Is dead

PROFESSOR David Iyornongu Ker, former Benue State University VC, is dead, according to reports reaching The CONCLAVE Newsroom.

He was aged 70.

Ker was one of the prominent leaders of the North Central Peoples’ Forum, (NCPF).

A leader of the Forum in a medsage sent to The CONCLAVE said: “We have just received the sad news of the demise of one of our respected elders and leaders of the North Central Peoples’ Forum, (NCPF), Professor David Iyornongu Ker, OON, former Vice Chancellor of Benue State University, (BSU) and Veritas University, respectively.:

He was said to be on the NCPF delegation which paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Senator Ibrahim Nasir Mantu, last week, and was also on the team which visited the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, a fortnight ago.

Prof Ker, as learnt, marked his 70th birthday on June 6, 2021.

Contacted, another leader of the NCPF, Dr Tunde Olusunle, confirmed receipt of the news.

Olusunle said the late Ker was a seasoned professor of English who taught in several universities and Chairman of the federal government visitation panel to the Federal University of Technology, Yola.

He prayed that the Almighty God would grant his soul eternal repose even as he said that he would be sorely missed.
