Helpless, AIG Joseph Hands Over Zone 11 Command To God AS Nigerian Security Crisis Degenerates

THE Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 11 Command Osogbo, comprising of Oyo State and Osun States, AIG Mukan Joseph Gobum on Thursday advised officers and men of the command to shun evil act and embrace righteousness that exhort the nation.

He reminded them that everyone will give account of stewardship, saying if not in this world but in the life thereafter.

The AIG Gobum gave this advice during the joint Christian service which involved both civilian and police men to hand over the Command under his watch to God and pray for peace, progress and divine security in Nigeria.

The service, under the auspices of the Christian Police Fellowship of Nigeria, took place at the All Saints Protestant Chapel, Zone 11 Command Headquarters Osogbo.

While taking his text from the Psalms of David 127:1, the AIG read, “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that builds it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchmen waketh [but] in vein.’ we don’t want to wake in vein so we pray to God to come and crown our efforts, so that Zone 11 will continue to be the most peaceful zone in the whole country.”

The AIG Gobum also encouraged the participants to always see prayer as the antidote to every situation in life saying “all things are possible with God”.

While delivering his sermon at the prayer meeting, from Romans 8:19, the Apostolic Church, Osogbo Area, Superintendent Pastor I. G. Awotanmi said officers should pray for grace to stand out among their mates because the whole creation (world) is earnestly waiting for the manifestations of the sons of God.

The Police Chaplain Ven. Elijah Olawuyi offered prayers for the peace of the nation and also prayed the government and the people of Oyo and Osun States.
