Group Plans Protest In Abuja Over Alleged Murder, Mysterious Disappearances In Edo Community.

THE Egbira nationality union comprising of indigenous people of Egbira in Kogi, Nasarawa and Edo states are converging in Abuja on Saturday the 14th of August to stage a protest at the national conference center against series of murder cases and mysterious disappearances of persons in Igarra community in Edo state.
In a press release signed by its president Engr Ojo Adavi, the group stated that they are not comfortable with the police handling of the death of an egbira son in January of 2021 named Mr Dickson Lacombe Emah and the interference of Edo State Government in the prosecution of the earlier arraigned suspects. The group recalled also the mysterious disappearance of a political leader in the same community some few years ago named Chief Okomayin Suru Akpata and one Mr. Aiyetovi Uwaishevo in 2017.
The protest according to the group will be peaceful and gave kudos to the FCT command of the Nigerian police for approving the plan action which will be confined to the area designated.
You will recall that the death of Mr Lacombe Emah has sparked violent reactions and subsequent arraignment of 4 persons in connection with the murder while others remains at large.
However the police in Edo having allegedly carried shoddy investigation, set the stage for the release of the known suspects who are now roaming the streets of Igarra and edo an action considered as dangerous for the people of Edo State and environs.
The remains of the death of Lacombe is yet to be interned while those who are linked to his death allegedly celebrate with champagne and wine while one of them reportedly died in a motor accident in Abuja in July 2021.
