Farmer Beheaded, Suspect Lynched In Enugu

A RICE farmer has been beheaded in Emudo village in Nenwe community, Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State.

He was allegedly killed by a 25-year-old man, identified as Ifeanyi Ubah.

Ubah was also killed by the villagers, it was learnt.

The farmer was reportedly returning from his farm with his wife when the assailant attacked.

Sources told our correspondent that the killer beheaded the farmer and was going home with his head hidden in a bag when he ran out of luck.

Ubah was said to have been caught by villagers.

A source said, “The victim went to his rice farm with his wife to apply fertiliser and other pesticides. While returning home, the suspect  ambushed him, attacked and killed him. The farmer’s wife fled. But as the suspect was riding home on his victim’s motorcycle, the severed head fell off from the bike and he was apprehended by members of his community.”

The villagers lynched him.

Police spokesman Daniel Ndukwe confirmed the incident.
