2018 WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS: No Foreign Coach For Eagles

Those rooting for the services of a foreign manager for the Super Eagles ahead of Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup qualifiers and even for the competition proper in Russia are in for a rude shock.

SportingLife gathered from those who should know at the Glass House on Thursday morning that the incumbent chief coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh will guide the team through the country’s 2018 World Cup qualifiers until the qualification ticket is secured.

SportingLife scooped also that chieftians of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are prepared to expose Oliseh to refresher courses or to understudy renowned managers, if that is what Oliseh needs to resolve the Eagles’ current low goal scoring average.

Indeed, Oliseh has contacted the federation’s chief about his plans for the home-based Eagles as they plan for the CHAN Nations Cup holding in Rwanda.

Interestingly, Oliseh had toyed with the idea of camping the home-based lads in Tanzania which he considered to have the same climatic conditions with Rwanda during the competition next year.

But there could be a slight shift in the plans now that it is clear that Nigeria would be playing some of her group matches on synthetic pitches which are not available in Tanzania
